Joh. Wilh. von Eicken GmbH is one of the few independent family businesses in Germany that produces the whole range of tobacco products, from raw tobacco to the final product itself.

The company’s roots trace all the way back to the year 1770, when Johann Wilhelm von Eicken started producing tobacco in Mülheim an der Ruhr. True to his company motto “Tobacco passion since 1770”, the company founder laid out his vision to create tobacco products that give people moments of enjoyment and a pronounced sense of joie de vivre.

Today, we are able to look back on over 250 years of company history and are proud to say that our company is one of the oldest companies still in existence in Germany.

As one of the few independent medium-sized tobacco producers in Germany, we employ roughly 950 people and supply more than 120 countries around the globe with our brands and high-quality tobacco products.

In addition to our Lübeck headquarters and our network of global distribution companies in France, the US, Asia and the Middle East, the company group also includes the tobacco house Dingelstädt (Thuringia) and the cigar manufacturer Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic.

The name von Eicken has been synonymous with top quality tobacco since 1770. Guided by a sense of tradition and passion, von Eicken is now in its eighth generation.
