Sales Director (m/w/d) Central & Eastern Europe

To support our team in Lübeck starting as soon as possible we are looking for an Sales Director (m/w/d) Central & Eastern Europe.

Join a fast-growing family-owned tobacco business with international reach searching for a dynamic and results-driven regional Sales Director to drive growth across Central & Eastern European markets, the company's prime and fastest-growing region. We are looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, strong analytical & management skills, business acumen and a demonstrated ability to interpret and manage a P&L.

As a regional Sales Director, you will drive sales and business performance in Central & Eastern Europe. You will also identify, shape, negotiate and close partnerships that align with von Eicken’s growth objectives. The successful candidate will report to the Head of International Sales & Exports.

Your Tasks:

  • Growth Strategy: Shape and execute a comprehensive and profitable business growth strategy for Central & Eastern European markets, including annual planning, quarterly sales forecast, product portfolio and pricing.
  • Sales Execution: Develop and implement the regional sales strategy aligned with local and global strategic priorities. Work closely with key customers and distribution partners in select markets, specifically the Czech Republic, Romania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and GTR, ensuring execution of plans and achievement of targets (sales, distribution, coverage, pricing).
  • Partner Engagement: Manage the existing distributor network and customer relationships while building new collaborations with key customers and companies. Negotiate contract terms and pricing. Work with our legal department on contracts.
  • Pipeline Management: Analyse market dynamics to identify opportunities and threats. Manage and maintain a robust pipeline of business and product/brand opportunities, tracking progress and ensuring a healthy balance between short and long-term financial returns.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, legal, finance and production, ensuring seamless execution of partnership agreements and uninterrupted product supply.
     

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
  • Longstanding marketing and sales experience in a consumer goods environment.
  • Fluent in German and English. Knowledge of an Eastern European language is of significant benefit.
  • The candidate should be able and willing to travel within Europe regularly and to Asia selectively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong drive for results (individually and with teams) and ability to work with agility (capable of making timely recommendations and decisions).
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, conceptual thinking coupled with a passion for understanding consumer and distributor needs – skilled in balancing strategic and operational demands.
  • Commercial acumen and deep financial analysis & modelling knowledge, including demonstrated ability to manage a P&L.
  • Experience in business strategy and partner management within the fast-moving consumer goods sector and deep knowledge in developing, executing and managing sales strategies, plans and budgets that drive growth.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to engage accessibly and concisely about partnerships, solutions, or products to external parties.
  • Strong cross-functional project management skills.
